some pictures
digital...from yesterday...morning, and afternoon

so...
last year i went to some photography course...the last classes, i ckecked late =P
and the professor liked my photographs, and became friend with him
so, this year, he invited me to go shooting with him and his group whenever theyll go shooting
and yesterday was one of those days
we went to Buenos Aires, Caminito (please google it)
and then to san telmo, another hood from buenos aires
we had a great day, there were a lot of us
and a lot of turists, caminito is a very turistic place
so i took a lot of people shots
we barely got there, and some people passed walking lots of dogs
some of the people there were preparing all their stuff
theres a fair, and a lot of street crafters sell their "products" to all the foreingner
there is a lot of people dressed as tango dancers, who grab you and tell your friend to take a picture of you and him/her and then want to charge you 5-10 bucks =P
theyre really quick, and all over the place...
"art" that way...
there is a place where you can buy tango photographs, and paintings and all that stuff
happy couple walking on the sidewalk
i like to take pictures of couples...dont know why
all the walls, windows, and solid things =P are all painted with vivid colors...as you can see =P
youll see a little of that in some more pictures...
lots of postcards in every little shop there
most of them are tango related
hello! =P
lots of things to buy as souvenier
i so wanted to take a good picture of that moment...
the two guys talking, the cat behind them...
but i was in a hurry to meet with the group, and i took it from my waist on the run
its a shame...
like the colors?
that beautiful woman was luring men tu grab her leg, or make a pose, or something to be taken a picture, and then carge them 5 or 10 bucks
i already know the scam....so...i passed...
dont know why...i just clicked
i liked the menus mixture
with this one i liked the textures and colors
there are a lot of places to eat, mostly grills
and there are lots of employes of the place on the streets trying to get you to go eat to their place, after the first half hour, it gets kinda irritating....
that guy was engraving symbols, and football emblems to mates
more scaming...you see, its a little hard to resist ;)
i took a picture of lennie when she came here
one night we were walking down florida street in buenos aires, and there was a tango show, a really beautiful one, and between songs the dancers offered to be photographed with the visitors, i insisted her to let me photograph her with the dancer, and she did it :)
i would upload it......but shed kill me =P

*4th time i saved the blog*
just in case....you never know with uber ;)

i liked that moment
its a shamed i cut the upper side of the door...
its such a beautiful thing to listen to live tango played by people who have been playing it for sooooo long.....
also to watch it...
tango legs....
tango shoes....
tango moves....
so easily recognizable...
after shooting there in caminito, we all gathere up and took a group shot
the prof still has to send it to me
and some of the girls started feeding the doves
a breadman passed offering stuffed breads
we all bought him one, they were huuuuuge
stuffed with ham and cheese, onion oregano and cheese, tomato basil and cheese...really yummy
we bought him the hole basket, he was really happy, and with really catchy rhymes to attract people to buy his breads
then...
in san telmo
we entered a really really really weird market, full of antiques...next to butchers...next to vegetables stores...next to clothes stores...next to bathrooms...
there was a common odor all over the place, and it was huge!
lots of vinyls

im listening to Juno soundtrack right now (we watched it yesterday with lennie), and im liking a lot the Kimya Dawson songs, theyre cute :)

one of the girls of the course wanted her picture taken with that camera
i was there, so i did it
hehe, the full me =P
remington portable
they wanted their pictures taken with those glasses
once again, i was there
you dont need a 400 for potraits ;)
with a 50 is fine ;)
i liked the woman with the dog....
the package =P not the woman that was with the dog =P
i liked the doorbells also
hehehehehe
that was reallllly funny
the little kid was yelling at the pigeons to scare them, and he was trying very hard!
then another pigion disturber joined him :)
he hid uner the tables and tried tu surprise them....
no luck...
last one
a little girl hypnotized by a pigeonman
she stood there a long while...and just...looked at them
she seemed to be really enjoying it...

so yeah, thats it for today folks

do you think the lens flares too much?....
i think i notice it too many times...
theyve all been taken with the 50 1.8

if you have any question you can always ask, any comment or critique is always welcome

ill go to bed now, it took me a while to write and post this, too many savings ;)

if you drink, dont drive, and if you drive, dont drink
you might spill your drink

hope youre all great!!!

cheers everybody!

Fantastic shots my good friend. I bet you and the troop had a great time. Good to see you got some time to get out and get a few photos.

Nice shots! I like the frame of the hand and the pigeons, particularly.

great post, mate!

i've seen that area on some travel channel program. was happy i didn't have to google it as i already knew about it.

they did not talk about "the scam," though. had no idea.

thanks for taking me along with you on your walk!

im sure they didnt talk about the scam, or the poverty surrounding that area...
the place is packed with cops patrolling the streets, because thats one of the most poor hoods in buenos aires

glad you like it mate! :D

Such an interesting blog, really great pictures. The whole tango scam thing sounds amusing. I'm sure there are similar scams here in London for the tourists, but I've never seen anything quite like Tango scamming here!
Hope you are well.

when turists come here one of the things they say is "tango" or "maradona" =P
so the people here take advantage of that, and let them be photographed with a tangodressed person
when you arrive to that place you can hear tango everywhere...its beautiful :)
